RESUMO O déficit ou excesso de água pode provocar alterações indesejáveis na produção e aspectos fisiológicos das culturas irrigadas. Considerando-se a análise de dados experimentais, o emprego de metodologias estatísticas clássicas pode não ser suficiente para detectar efeitos morfológicos e fisiológicos resultantes das condições empregadas, sendo interessante a utilização de novos procedimentos, como a inferência bayesiana. Objetivou-se avaliar trocas gasosas na cultura do pimentão sob lâminas de água e diferentes horários de irrigação, em ambiente protegido, aplicando-se as metodologias paramétrica e bayesiana. O experimento foi conduzido em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, em esquema fatorial 5 x 2, sendo cinco lâminas (60, 80, 100, 120 e 140 % da evapotranspiração da cultura) e dois horários de irrigação (08 h e 14 h), com cinco repetições. Foram analisadas a condutância estomática, taxa transpiratória e fotossintética, eficiência intrínseca na utilização de água, razão entre a taxa fotossintética e a taxa transpiratória, e massa seca total. As trocas gasosas foram afetadas pelas lâminas de reposição de água, com pouca interferência dos horários de irrigação. Os modelos de regressão linear, em função das lâminas de água, para taxa transpiratória, condutância estomática e massa seca total foram significativos para ambas as metodologias estatísticas, sugerindo que os resultados são semelhantes e até coincidentes, principalmente quando não são fornecidas informações a priori na análise bayesiana. Diferenças para a taxa fotossintética foram obtidas apenas com o método bayesiano, ajustando-se modelos lineares em função das lâminas de água, em ambos os horários de irrigação.

ABSTRACT The water deficit or excess may cause undesirable changes in yield and physiological aspects of irrigated crops. Considering the analysis of experimental data, the use of classical statistical methods may not be sufficient to detect morphological and physiological effects resulting from the conditions employed, being interesting the use of new procedures, such as the Bayesian inference. This study aimed to evaluate the gas exchanges in the bell pepper crop under irrigation depths and different irrigation times, in a protected environment, by applying the parametric and Bayesian methods. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design, arranged in a 5 x 2 factorial scheme, with five irrigation depths (60, 80, 100, 120 and 140 % of the crop evapotranspiration) and two irrigation times (8 a.m. and 2 p.m.), with five replications. The stomatal conductance, transpiration rate, photosynthetic rate, intrinsic water-use efficiency, ratio between the photosynthetic rate and the transpiration rate, and total dry matter were evaluated. The gas exchanges were affected by water replacement depths, with little interference from the irrigation times. The linear regression models, according to the irrigation depths, for transpiration rate, stomatal conductance and total dry matter were significant for both the statistical methods, suggesting that the results are similar and even coincident, especially when a priori information are not provided in the Bayesian analysis. Differences in the photosynthetic rate were observed only with the Bayesian method, adjusting linear models according to the irrigation depths, in both the irrigation times.

RESUMO Diferentes horários de irrigação resultam em diferentes taxas de transpiração, devido à disponibilidade de água e sua interação com a demanda evapotranspirativa. O déficit de pressão de vapor é um indicador preciso da capacidade evaporativa da atmosfera e pode afetar as plantas, devido ao movimento da água no sistema contínuo solo-planta-atmosfera. Objetivou-se avaliar o crescimento, produtividade e eficiência do uso da água de pimentões submetidos a horários (08:00 h e 14:00 h) e níveis de reposição hídrica (60 %, 80 %, 100 %, 120 % e 140 % da necessidade hídrica da cultura - ETc) baseados na demanda evapotranspirativa. O aumento nos níveis de irrigação puderam ser ajustados ao modelo linear para as variáveis número de frutos por planta, peso médio e total de frutos por planta, comprimento dos frutos e peso seco da raiz, do caule e total. A irrigação às 14:00 h aumentou o peso total e médio e o número de frutos por planta, bem como o comprimento dos frutos, se comparada à irrigação às 08:00 h, além de aumentar a produtividade em 50,82 % (2.343,0 g planta-1 para 3.533,6 g planta-1) e a eficiência do uso da água em 55,64 %. Em áreas sujeitas à escassez de água, o estabelecimento de horários de irrigação baseados em práticas de manejo de irrigação pode aumentar a produtividade e a eficiência no uso de água em pimentões.

ABSTRACT Different irrigation times result in variable transpiration rates, due to the water availability and its interaction with the evapotranspiration demand. The vapor pressure deficit is an accurate indicator of the atmosfere evaporative capacity and can affect plants because of the movement of water in the soil-plant-atmosphere continuum system. This study aimed to evaluate the plant growth, yield and water-use efficiency of bell peppers under irrigation times (8 a.m. and 2 p.m.) and water replacement levels (60 %, 80 %, 100 %, 120 % and 140 % of the crop water requirement - ETc) based on the evapotranspiration demand. The increase in the irrigation levels could be fit to linear models for the variables number of fruits per plant, mean and total fruit weight per plant, fruit length, and root, stem and total dry weight. Irrigation at 2 p.m. increased the total and mean fruit weight and number of fruits per plant, as well as fruit length, if compared to the irrigation at 8 a.m., besides increasing the yield by 50.82 % (2,343.0 g plant-1 to 3,533.6 g plant-1) and the water-use efficiency by 55.64 %. In areas subjected to water shortages, establishing irrigation times based on irrigation management practices can increase the water-use efficiency and yield for bell peppers.

RESUMO A adubação é importante para otimizar o crescimento e produtividade, sendo necessario para atividade agrícola. A adubação de solo deve aumentar o lucro líquido, que depende da eficiência de uso de nutrientes pela planta. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a eficiência agronômica em berinjela sob diferentes doses de potássio (K) e nitrogênio (N). Quatro níveis de K (0, 54, 108 e 216 kg de K ha-1) e quatro níveis de N (0, 67, 134 e 268 kg de N ha-1) foram aplicados semanalmente via fertirrigação. As plantas mais altas e com maior diâmetro de caule foram obtidas com 165-175 kg ha-1 de N. A área foliar foi mais influenciada pelo nitrogênio em comparação com o potássio. Aplicações isoladas de diferentes doses de K não influenciaram a altura de planta, diâmetro de caule e matéria seca da folha. A eficiência agronômica do nitrogênio é reduzida com o aumento da dose de N e K.

ABSTRACT Fertilization is important for the optimization of plant growth and yield, which are necessary for agronomic activities. Soil fertilization should increase net earnings that depend on nutrient use efficiency. The aim of this study was to evaluate the agronomic efficiency of eggplant under different doses of potassium (K) and nitrogen (N). Four levels of K (0, 54, 108, and 216 kg ha-1) and four levels of N (0, 67, 134, and 268 kg ha-1) were applied weekly by fertigation. The highest plant and the largest stem diameter were found with 165-175 kg ha-1 of N. Leaf area was more influenced by N than by K. Isolated application of different K doses did not statistically influence height plant, stem diameter, or leaf dry matter. The agronomic efficiency of nitrogen is reduced with increasing levels of N and K.

RESUMO O melão rendilhado requer condições especiais de cultivo, como ambiente protegido, sistema de condução adequado e manejo de água e nutrientes. Objetivou-se avaliar o efeito de lâminas de irrigação e doses de silício na produtividade e qualidade de frutos do meloeiro híbrido Sunrise, em ambiente protegido. O delineamento experimental adotado foi em blocos ao acaso, em esquema fatorial 5 x 3, com quatro repetições. O primeiro fator consistiu de cinco doses de silício (0 kg ha-1, 50 kg ha-1, 100 kg ha-1, 150 kg ha-1 e 200 kg ha-1) e o segundo de três lâminas de irrigação (40 %, 70 % e 100 % da ETc). Os resultados demostraram que as lâminas de irrigação e as doses de silício aplicadas não influenciam nas características produtivas do meloeiro. A lâmina de irrigação referente a 100 % da ETc promove maior valor de sólidos solúveis (9,86 ºBrix) e índice de maturação (114,9) dos frutos. O aumento das doses de silício até 200 kg ha-1 resulta em aumento do índice de maturação no tratamento com maior lâmina de irrigação, bem como redução desse índice na menor lâmina aplicada.

ABSTRACT The netted melon requires special growing conditions, including a protected environment, an adequate staking system and proper water and nutrient management. This study aimed to assess the effect of irrigation levels and silicon doses on the yield and quality of Sunrise hybrid melons, in a greenhouse. A randomized block design was used, with a 5 x 3 factorial scheme and four replications. The first factor consisted of five silicon doses (0 kg ha-1, 50 kg ha-1, 100 kg ha-1, 150 kg ha-1 and 200 kg ha-1) and the second of three irrigation levels (40 %, 70 % and 100 % of the ETc). The results demonstrated that the applied irrigation levels and silicon doses have no influence on the yield traits of melon plants. The irrigation level corresponding to 100 % of the ETc promotes higher values for soluble solids (9.86 ºBrix) and maturation index (114.9) on fruits. The increase of silicon doses up to 200 kg ha-1 also increases the maturation index in the treatment with the greatest irrigation level and reduces this index at the shallowest level applied.

RESUMO A fertilização adequada das culturas é um dos desafios na agricultura. Medir as trocas gasosas e o acúmulo de biomassa é indicado para encontrar condições mais favoráveis para as plantas. Avaliou-se o efeito da fertirrigação com potássio (0 kg ha-1, 54 kg ha-1, 108 kg ha-1 e 216 kg ha-1) e nitrogênio (0 kg ha-1, 67 kg ha-1, 134 kg ha-1 e 268 kg ha-1) nas trocas gasosas e acúmulo de biomassa em berinjela, em estufa. A fotossíntese líquida, condutância estomática, transpiração, concentração interna de CO2, eficiência de carboxilação instantânea, eficiência do uso da água e matéria seca total foram avaliadas. Com exceção do K para a eficiência do uso da água e N para a concentração interna de CO2, todos os outros parâmetros de trocas gasosas apresentaram diferenças significativas para as doses de K e N. Houve interação entre as doses de N e K para fotossíntese, condutância estomática, transpiração e eficiência instantânea de carboxilação. Os maiores valores para fotossíntese líquida, condutância estomática, transpiração, eficiência de carboxilação instantânea e matéria seca total foram encontrados na faixa de 125-185 kg ha-1 de K e 215-268 kg ha-1 de N.

ABSTRACT Adequate crop fertilization is one of the challenges for agriculture. Measuring gas exchange and biomass accumulation may be used to adjust crop management. The effect of fertigation with potassium (0 kg ha-1, 54 kg ha-1, 108 kg ha-1 and 216 kg ha-1) and nitrogen (0 kg ha-1, 67 kg ha-1, 134 kg ha-1 and 268 kg ha-1) on gas exchange and biomass accumulation in eggplant was assessed under greenhouse conditions. The net photosynthesis, stomatal conductance, transpiration, internal CO2 concentration, instantaneous carboxylation efficiency, water-use efficiency and total dry weight were evaluated. With the exception of K for water-use efficiency and N for internal CO2 concentration, all the other gas exchange parameters were significantly affected by the K and N doses. There was an interaction between N and K doses for net photosynthesis, stomatal conductance, transpiration and instantaneous carboxylation efficiency. The highest values for net photosynthesis, stomatal conductance, transpiration rate, carboxylation instantaneous efficiency and total dry weight were found in the range of 125-185 kg ha-1 of K and 215-268 kg ha-1 of N.

Campos de murundus (CM) são áreas úmidas que prestam inúmeros serviços ecossistêmicos. Os objetivos desse estudo foram avaliar atributos químicos [carbono orgânico (CO), P, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+, Al3+ e H+Al] e físicos [textura e densidade do solo (Ds)] e calcular os teores de matéria orgânica (MO) e estoques dos nutrientes P, Ca, K e Mg em solos de CM localizados na bacia do Rio Guaporé em Mato Grosso. Foram selecionados 36 pontos de amostragem e coletadas amostras de solo em dois ambientes: murundu e área plana circunvizinha (APC). Em cada ponto foram abertas minitrincheiras de 0,5 × 0,5 × 0,4 m e coletadas amostras de solo deformadas e indeformadas nas profundidades de 0-0,1; 0,1-0,2; e 0,2-0,4 m. Na Análise de Componentes Principais as variáveis H+Al (49%) e MO (4%) foram associados com o componente F1 e o teor de areia (47%) com o componente F2. O murundu apresenta menor pH e maiores teores de K+, P e H+Al que a APC em ambas profundidades (p < 0,05). Até 0,2 m esses CM estocam 433; 360; 205; e 11 kg ha-1 de Ca, Mg, K e P, respectivamente. No entanto, o murundu estoca duas vezes mais K e três vezes mais P que a APC. Estes CM apresentam altos teores de areia, Ds superior a 1,5 Mg m-3, elevada acidez, baixo teor de CO e pobreza em nutrientes. Dessa forma, necessitam de cuidados especiais para que a intervenção antrópica não desencadeie desequilíbrios ambientais.

Fields of murundus (FM) are wetlands that provide numerous ecosystem services. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the chemical [organic carbon (OC), P, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+, Al3+ and H+Al] and physical [texture and bulk density (Bd)] soil attributes and calculate the organic matter (OM) and nutrient stock (P, Ca, Mg, and K) in soils of FM located in the Guapore River basin in Mato Grosso. Thirty-six sampling points were selected, and soil samples were collected from two environments: the murundu and plain area surrounding (PAS). At each sampling point, mini trenches of 0.5 × 0.5 × 0.4 m were opened and disturbed and undisturbed soil samples were collected at depths of 0-0.1, 0.1-0.2, and 0.2-0.4 m. In the Principal Component Analysis the variables H+Al (49%) and OM (4%) were associated with the F1 component and sand content (47%) with the F2 component. The FM had lower pH values and higher concentrations of K+, P, and H+Al than PAS at all depths (p < 0.05). Additionally, FM stocked up to 433, 360, 205, and 11 kg ha-1 of Ca, Mg, K, and P, respectively, for up to a depth of 0.2 m. The murundu stored two times more K and three times more P than that in the PAS. Our results show that the FM has high sand content and Bd greater than 1.5 Mg m-3, high acidity, low OC content, and low nutrient concentrations. Thus, special care must be taken to preserve FM such that human intervention does not trigger environmental imbalances.

Esse trabalho teve por objetivo analisar atributos químicos e físicos de solos de barrancos das margens do rio Paraguai. Foram selecionados quatro perfis de barranco: trecho do Julião (perfis 1 e 2), Fazenda Chimbuva (perfil 3) e Barra do Cabaçal (perfil 4). Para as analises químicas e físicas foram coletadas amostras de solo das camadas de cada barranco analisado. Os perfis dos barrancos apresentaram alturas que variaram de 0,90 a 1,45 m, sendo as camadas delimitadas apenas na parte visível dos barrancos, excluindo-se a parte submersa. Todos os perfis avaliados possuem caráter flúvico, indicativo de provável deposição de sedimentos ao longo do tempo em virtude dos ciclos de inundação no período chuvoso. Houve predominância de cores mais alaranjadas nas camadas mais superficiais e de colorações mais acinzentadas nas camadas mais próximas do nível do rio. Os teores de matéria orgânica dos solos das camadas analisadas são baixos, não ultrapassando 1 g kg-1, sendo os maiores teores observados nas camadas superiores dos perfis analisados. Os altos teores de alumínio e de saturação por este elemento podem estar associados à dinâmica fluvial, que contribui para a lixiviação das bases do solo. As características granulométricas observadas aliadas aos baixos teores de matéria orgânica conferem pouca estabilidade aos barrancos, facilitando a ocorrência de processos erosivos nas margens.

This work aimed to analyze chemical and physical attributes of soil of the Paraguay River margins. Four profiles of soil of the margins were selected: passage of Julião (profiles 1 and 2), Chimbuva farm (profile 3) and Barra of Cabaçal (profile 4). Samples for chemical and physical analyses were collected from each of the layers in the margins analyzed. The profiles of the margins presented heights ranging from 0.90 to 1.45 m. Only the visible parts of the layers were delimited, excluding the submerged portions. All profiles have Fluvic character, indicative of possible sediment deposition over time due to the flooding cycles during the rainy season. There was a dominance of orange colors in the top superficial layers and gray colors in the layers toward the river level. The organic matter content of soil layers analyzed are low, not exceeding 1 g kg-1, with the highest levels observed in the upper layers of the profiles analyzed. The high contents of aluminum and the saturation of this element may be associated with river dynamics, which contributes to the leaching of the soil bases. The particle size characteristics observed in addition to the low levels of organic matter provide little stability to the banks, facilitating the occurrence of erosion in the margins.
